The preliminary results are in, and all our hard work over the past several months has paid off! Thanks to Santa Cruz voters and the help of countless supporters — endorsers, volunteers, donors, people who put up yard signs, and a hardworking, talented team — we were able to carry out a broad community-based campaign and finish with a strong showing that will allow me to serve a fifth term on the City Council!

Santa Cruz is an exceptional place in so many ways, and I’m eager to serve the community once again as a council member. As I have in the past, I will continue to work hard for the qualities that are so important to Santa Cruz residents, even as we confront challenges and change. I will work for the long-term wellbeing of the community, encompassing both economic vitality and environmental protection; a vibrant cultural life and essential infrastructure; public safety for our neighborhoods and business districts, and safety net services for those in need; a promising community for our young people, jobs for our workforce, and security for our seniors.

Certainly there will be challenges, but I know there will also be great willingness on the part of our community to engage in finding solutions, and I’m committed to making that happen. I’m eager to hear your ideas, and to work with you to make this a community we can all be proud of.
